Definition of hit and run: hit-and-run [ hit-n-ruhn ]
adjective 1. guilty of fleeing the scene of an accident or injury one has caused, especially a vehicular accident, thereby attempting to evade being identified and held responsible: a hit-and-run driver.
I had a dream. I was at McDonald's and I was leaving the parking lot. In my dream, I pulled out onto the highway and drove to my next destination. I got out and went inside. People I knew were there. We began socializing, and someone came in telling about a hit and run. Apparently, my very good friend and sisters family was injured. Her brother was in the hospital with injuries, and the police were searching for the driver who had hit him. Someone else came in and asked me how my van was dented on the front. Turned out, as I puleled out of McDonald's, I hit his car, and never.even.knew.it. It was me. I was guilty. People were mad at me, and it was horrible. I had unintentionally injured a man. I had no knowledge of the event, and yet I was a very real participant.
Got me thinking... How many times have I been randomly engaged in a conversation, running my mouth, and WAMB BAMB ...I say something hurtful, or painful and dont.even.realize.it. Just like a hit and run, if someone were to question me later, I would truly have no knowledge...so would I be guilty or innocent. I am So glad I don't have to be the judge. What I have to do is pray before I ever speak. Every day, I need the Lords help wiping my mind of negative thoughts...and blocking my mouth from speaking hurtful things. God.can.do.this...I.can.not.
Proverbs 6:1-4 KJV
My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger, Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend. Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
