It all started innocently enough. I can honestly say, out of all the possible life altering outcomes, the end result was something I was totally unprepared for. Life is funny like that. Curve balls are randomly thrown to spice things up a bit. What begins as simply fun quickly becomes unplanned complexities and life altering.
Friendship can be that way. When you begin a friendship, it often is not premeditated. A random meeting of two strangers, an innocent conversation, a connection...the rest of the story is determined on the events that follow. The days, weeks, months, and years that follow. Each conversation a building block for the growing relationship. A blossom of beauty with no thorns in sight.
Reality is the thorns are right there, under the blooms and leaves. Thorns are a very real part of all relationships, and its how the thorns are dealt with that determines the result.
Christians are taught forgiveness and love without end. Jesus lived that way. Families stay together with the glue that Jesus provided, love and forgiveness, and ultimately friendships are tested by these also.
When a friendship fails the test, and love and forgiveness are no longer enough, one of the people must choose to severe the bond. The one severed is left feeling broken, used, and forgotten. It is a desolate feeling. Many more people have experienced this than we realize, because it is this result that causes a person to retreat into themselves and fear all other relationships will subsequently finish the same way. This thought process is common, and yet a large misconception. Each individual must choose love and forgiveness...Jesus.....OR bitterness and grudges...Satan. It truly is so black and white afterwards, and yet during the unfortunate event of a severed friendship, ones thoughts are focused on that pain, that friends rejection, the lies...
Detoxification of the mind can repair the damage done by a severed friendship. Gods word has truths that will heal. He is the final answer. Take it from one who experienced it firsthand.

INTOXICATING BEVERAGES?
ReplyDeleteDoes God really approve of Christians drinking intoxicating beverages? Did Jesus actually turn water into intoxicating wine so the wedding party could continue to drink themselves into a drunken stupor? (John 2:1-10) I do not think so. If the wedding party had been drinking intoxicating wine, then many of them would have already been drunk. All wine mentioned in the Bible is not fermented wine nor does all wine have a high alcohol content.
Noah was a social wine drinker. How did that work out for him?
Genesis 9:20-25 ....21 He drank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself inside his tent....24 When Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him. 25 So he said, "Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants he shall be to his brothers."
Do social drinkers get drunk? Noah did.
Lot was a social wine drinker. Was that a good thing?
Genesis 19:30-38....32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him that we may preserve our family though our father.....
Had Lot not been a social drinker he never would have committed incest. Social drinking always precedes drunkenness.
Were priests social drinkers?
Leviticus 10:8-11 The Lord then spoke to Aaron, saying , 9 "Do not drink wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you come into the tent of meeting, so that you will not die---it is a perpetual statute throughout your generations.....
Social drinking was not inconsequential for priests.
Hosea 4:11 Harlotry, wine and new wine take away the understanding.
Is wisdom and understanding a result of social drinking. No.
All drunkards were social drinkers before they became drunkards.
Galatians 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
SOCIAL DRINKING IS TRAINING WHEELS FOR DRUNKARDS!
